Hrayr G. Basmajian, MD
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
Orthopaedic Trauma Medical Director
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center
Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Basmajian was recruited to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) from his previous position as the Chair of Orthopaedic Trauma at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He was brought to PVHMC to help build and create the top Orthopaedic Trauma program nationwide. Along with acute care surgeons, they collectively work to constantly evaluate and improve the program so that you, the patient, can continuously have world-class care.
Dr. Basmajian is world renowned for giving lectures and teaching other surgeons the art of trauma care in the field of Orthopaedics.
His philosophy to patient care can be summed up as follows: knowledge, compassion, and common sense delivered to patients in a way they will understand. He has stood in the patients’ shoes and understands the difficulties associated with being in that position. His goal is to take his extensive education and training from top programs, combine it with his faith, and apply it to your situation. He aims to educate you in the process and thus empower you (the Patient) to determine the best treatment for you, in your specific circumstance. At times, this is best delivered through non-operative treatments and healthy discussions, and other times delivered through surgery using the best and latest technology in the operating room to limit morbidity and improve the level and speed of recovery.
